The Meandering Journey

Léonce Lemmens’ path to become a full-time autonomous painter has been an organic, meandering exploration. In her youth, she  studied shortly at the Art Academy in Maastricht. However, life soon took her in different directions: she worked in advertising and public relations, followed by decades of dedicated professional work within healthcare and corporate organizations.

Throughout these years, painting remained private. Decades of observing human connection, structural balances, and professional dynamics became an invisible emotion waiting to be released. 

In 2014 a transformative journey to the Mongolian side of the Gobi Desert served as the ultimate catalyst. Léonce Lemmens started painting again, transferring a lifetime of memories, visited spaces and raw emotions directly into the heavy layers of the canvas.

Lemmens participated at international exhibitions in Berlin, Madrid, Paris, Milan, New York and Seoul.
